From Research to Real-World Impact – Why This Book Truly Matters

I had the privilege of writing the foreword for “Research Meets Commercialisation : Turning Innovation into Real-world Impact”, written by Dr Nikita Vadsaria (Head – Strategic Partnerships at Syncoro Ventures Private Limited) and in doing so, I found myself reflecting deeply on why this book is not just timely, but necessary.

For decades, some of the most powerful ideas in our universities and research labs have remained trapped behind academic walls – brilliant on paper, but waiting for a bridge to the real world.
This book is that bridge.

It speaks to a quiet revolution unfolding across India and the world:
where research must no longer end at publication, but begin its journey toward products, policies, enterprises, and real societal impact.

What makes this work especially powerful is the voice behind it.
Nikita brings together rare perspectives – of the researcher, the ecosystem builder, the practitioner, and the deeply empathetic listener. She understands the patience and discipline of the lab, the urgency of markets, and the human journey of every researcher standing at the edge of possibility, wondering:
“How do I take this forward?”

This book doesn’t just provide frameworks.
It offers direction, courage, and a roadmap for researchers who want their work to matter beyond citations – into communities, companies, and the future.

In the foreword, I wrote about how innovation only creates impact when it finds a path beyond the lab. This book doesn’t merely explain that path, it walks with the reader along it.

At Syncoro, this mission sits at the very heart of what we do. We are building structured pathways to help innovators and Ph.D. scholars unlock the true value of their work – transforming ideas into enterprises, research into revenue, and knowledge into impact that truly matters.

Why does this book matter?
Because the next era of growth will not come only from startups or corporates – it will come from researchers who choose to step into entrepreneurship, collaboration, and commercialisation.

Why is Nikita the right voice for this movement?
Because she doesn’t preach the journey – she has lived it, built it, and is now helping others cross that same bridge.

Grateful to walk this mission together and deeply proud of the work being done here.

This is not just a book.
It is a catalyst.

Congratulations, Nikita… wishing you many more such milestones in the years to come…
