47 years, One bond.
They say friendships come and go…
But ours? It came in kindergarten and just never left.
We’ve been together for 47 years (we met for the first time in 1978), longer than most warranties, marriages, and email addresses.
We’ve grown from kids who shared tiffins,
To teens who shared secrets,
To men who now share diabetes & cholesterol levels.
And through it all, we’ve stayed together.
Not just as friends, but as family.
We are not perfect. Far from it.
Some of us snore (almost all of us!!!),
some are always late,
some forget important dates, and
some still act like we’re 18.
But we’ve never judged.
We’ve only laughed, teased & accepted.
We’ve lived life shoulder-to-shoulder, through every high, low, heartbreak, marriage, business, and now grey hair.
But here’s what makes our story even more special:
Each one of us is blessed with a wife who understands and respects this bond, never questioning it, but embracing it.
Our wives didn’t just accept our crazy friendship, they became friends themselves.
And the most beautiful part?
Our kids are now best friends too or more like cousins without the bloodline, but all the love.
This isn’t just a group anymore.
It’s a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love passed on to the next generation.
So today, on this Friendship Day, as we step into our 50s (in fact, tomorrow is my 50th birthday ?), I just want to say:
Thank you.
Thank you for showing up.
For being my emergency contact – emotionally & mentally…
For knowing me before the world did and still liking me anyway.
For building a bond so strong that even our families now feel like one.
Here’s to the past 47 years – Of inside jokes, unfinished stories, emotional bailouts, and legendary moments.
And here’s to the next 50… May we continue to:
– Laugh louder than life
– Roast each other with love
– Grow older, bolder, and never boring
– And keep proving that real friendship doesn’t age.
Let’s not just grow old together.
Let’s grow timeless in a world that keeps changing…
