Jaipur & The Rise of India’s Next Entrepreneurial Frontier

TGS

After attending TiE Global Summits in Mumbai, Delhi, Dubai, Hyderabad, Singapore, and Bangalore over the years, I was thrilled to be at the 10th TiE Global Summit (TGS2026) at Jaipur. This was the first time one of the world’s largest entrepreneurial gatherings was hosted in a Tier-2 city in India, signalling a powerful shift in the global innovation map.

For context, TiE – The Indus Entrepreneurs was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by visionary tech entrepreneurs from India who wanted to give back and build a global support network for founders. Since then, TiE has grown into a global nonprofit community that fosters entrepreneurship through its five pillars – mentoring, education, incubation, funding, and networking – and today has a presence in 60+ chapters across 10+ countries, including 20+ chapters in India. TiE’s impact is extraordinary – helping 25,000+ startups, creating 2.5 million+ jobs, facilitating USD 50-70 billion in investment, and catalysing over USD 1 trillion in wealth creation.

This year’s Rajasthan DigiFest × TiE Global Summit 2026 brought together 1,000+ TiE Charter Members from across the world in Jaipur to celebrate entrepreneurship. What makes this edition special was not just the numbers, but the narrative it represents:
Tier-2 India is no longer a fringe story – it is a growth engine powering innovation and emerging ventures.

As entrepreneurs from every corner of the world exchange ideas here, it becomes evident that innovation no longer needs a metro address. Jaipur has made that point clearly. Cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Indore now appear well-positioned to host events of similar global stature in the near future.
